Wirespeed bills on users and endpoints. When Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace license data is available, we use that license count. Otherwise, we count eligible synced assets.
View billable counts under Settings > Team Analytics in the Billable Resources section. Service providers also see per-client columns on the Clients page.

Billing source

  • From license: Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace license data is available.
  • Derived from assets: License data is unavailable, so Wirespeed counts synced users and endpoints.
Users and endpoints are counted separately. For rollups that need one billable-asset count, Wirespeed uses the larger number: billable users or billable endpoints.

Microsoft 365

Billable users are unique licensed users. A user with multiple Microsoft licenses still counts once. To view those users in Microsoft:
  1. Open Microsoft Admin Center > Users
  2. Select Filter Set > Standard Filter Set > Licensed users
This list is the Microsoft population Wirespeed uses for billable users.

Google Workspace

Billable users come from Google Workspace license checks. Google reports can lag recent license changes by several days.

Derived from assets

Used when Microsoft or Google license data is unavailable. Billable users are enabled, managed directory users, excluding NHI and External users. Billable endpoints are live, managed endpoints from endpoint management or EDR integrations, excluding Mobile endpoints. Detection-only endpoints are not billable.

Service providers

The Clients page shows Billable Users and Billable Endpoints per client. Totals aggregate the clients in the current view.
If billable totals look wrong after integrations have synced, contact support and provide the expected number of billable users.
