Installing the Teams App

To enable direct messaging to users, you must upload the Wirespeed app to your Microsoft Teams tenant.
Microsoft is retiring the legacy integration method Wirespeed previously used for ChatOps through Microsoft Teams. If you are using the legacy Teams integration, update to this integration by May 31, 2026 to avoid losing Teams ChatOps functionality in Wirespeed.

1. Download the App Package

  1. Download wirespeed-teams-app.zip

2. Enable Custom App Uploads

  1. Navigate to admin.teams.microsoft.com and sign in with your Microsoft 365 administrator credentials
  2. In the left-hand menu, select Teams apps > Manage apps
  3. Click Actions > Org-wide app settings in the upper-right corner
  4. Toggle Let users install and use available apps by default to On
  5. Click Save
It may take up to 24 hours for this setting to take effect.

3. Upload the Wirespeed App

  1. Click Actions > Upload and select Upload custom app
  2. Select the wirespeed-teams-app.zip file you downloaded earlier
  3. The app will appear in the list with the status “Allowed”

4. Grant Permissions

  1. Return to Wirespeed and navigate to Integrations > Add Integration > Microsoft Teams
  2. Confirm you have uploaded the ZIP file
  3. Add Integration
